Brentwood was located between Rue Kimber and Chemin Chambly. Chemin Noble was among the main streets in the area, and Cousineau Boulevard rose to prominence much later. Chemin Noble was named after Benjamin Noble, superintendent and resident of the area, upon its founding in the late 1910s. Many Montréalrs considered Brentwood a "summer retreat." It had no streets, electricity, or phone service. A small "cabin-like" train station was located next to the railroad tracks and provided service to Montreal via the Montreal and Southern Counties Railroad.
