" The counter experience took way too long over an hour & half! Guy behind the counter was ok, did not have the car i originally booked ended up with a Fiat Qubo not too much room to be honest. used to air con as well none in the rental vehicle, picky i know but it helps on plus 30C days. "

" On pick up was charged for refueling vehicle and told amount would be credited if vehicle returned with full tank. On pick up, tank was not full which we only discovered about 15 minutes after leaving airport when gauge registered 7/8 full. Took picture of gauge with date and time. After filling, again took pictures of gauge when full and showing distance to empty. Took picture again as gauge reached 7/8 full. Vehicle had been driven approximately 150K before we picked it up with the understanding it had a full tank. Hertz said, in spite of the pictures documenting our claim, they could not offer any financial compensation. After some further discussion, they reluctantly provided a coupon offering 10% discount on a future Hertz rental. As such, this limits me to dealing directly with Hertz unless Auto Europe will accept a Hertz voucher. In all likelihood I will not use the voucher and Hertz for future rentals and chalk this up to a negative experience with Hertz. "

" The car was not very clean. The car was not the model advertised and we were disappointed with the "or similar" option. It would be more accurate to say something like "the size of ..." instead of naming the model and saying "or similar" since the "or similar" seems to be not as desirable as the model advertised. That said, the price was good, the staff was good, the pick up and drop off was good so overall it was a positive experience. "

We advised EuropCar to inform them that there have some problems to go back with the car because roads were closed and we add to change our itinairy and take another roads far from Europcar office. We mentioned that when we returned the cart and they confirmed that we won't be charge for this inconvenient (out of our control). Returning home in Canada we received a bill of 1 day more charged to our credit card. In your contract, it is mentioned : if we advise us of a delay, no charge. We didn't understand this decision.... " At pick-up, car was not very clean; tank was not full (so I had to do some guesswork in order to dropp it off with the same amount of fuel); one of the headlights did not work; oil change was due, which resulted in a warning flashing continuously on the dashboard during the time I drove it - very annoying; at dropp-off, there was an overflow of returning cars, causing stress to the Europcar employee and to customers alike there being not enough space to park the car at the proper place "

" Auto Europe is the only place to book a car rental. The rates are always the best and you have choices to include insurances or not. I ALWAYS take the full no-deductible rates. It is still a great value. I always recommend Auto Europe as soon as I hear that someone is booking a car rental. Even here in North America. "

" I reserved the car online and the whole process was straightforward and easy. All the information I needed was readily available. "

" I created a Europcar Driver ID for quick pick-up service but the service was no quicker than if I had just shown up to pick up the reserved car. That's the reason I didn't rate the efficiency of the counter staff higher. The agent who did serve me was very pleasant and efficient, however. The car I was given had been washed but was still covered in bug stains and there was additional damage to the car that had to be recorded from what was indicated when I picked up the keys at the counter. "

" Everything about the rental was great except there were no directions on where to drop the car in Bari. The drop off point is not on the airport with the other car rental companies. This caused a lot of confusion and stress as we had places to go after the drop. Luckily one of the other rental outlets new where the Rhodium office was and led us there. Once we found the drop location the staff was very good. I would give them a 10 "

" I'm a regular customer and usually everything is great. However, this time the car category rented (and paid for) was not available when I came to pick up. Bigger issue was being charged for extra day when in fact I dropped off car on time (1 hour early). Attendants were not particularly pleasant and instructed me to park the car in a line. There were many cars in the garage and they obviously were having challenges. Should not be affecting their attitude towards customers. "

" The car was nice and in good condition.The GPS is somewhat expensive and is not necessarily up to date in terms of maps. Also, it cannot be stuck somewhere on the dashboard. Also, potential administration fees for any traffic violations are quite high, and could be lowered.. It would be useful to explain to users the behavior of the GPS in terms of beeping signals for example, when entering zones with electric surveillance, The english vesion of the GPS operates with yards and miles. It would be more useful to operate with the international system (meters/Kilometers). Also, a car instruction manual would be useful. "

And the drop off location listed on my voucher was completely incorrect. I only found out by Googling people's experiences and directions for dropoff, and then realizing the location was different, and calling to find out the real one. This really needs to get fixed, as drop-off in both Rome and Florence is extremely stressful as it is, and it would have been way worse if I had the wrong instructions. I would also like to see the addition of clear drop off directions for each location in Florence. It was a compete nightmare dropping off there with all the traffic limited zones and confusing one-ways. "

" We thought we would be renting an Opel station wagon and instead got a Renault Scenic. We loved the car - it was very comfortable for 4 people and had good space for luggage (held 4 carry-one sized suitcases plus some smaller hand luggage. The very best aspect was the large windows - people in the back seat had great views from the windows. We even had a person prone to car sickness who was OK because of the large windows. The reclining back seats, small trays, window shades and good air conditioning to the back made this area better than in most cars. " We have used Auto Europe for our vehicle needs in Europe on several occasions now. Booking online is excellent and the face to face service is good and at some locations it is great. . Not every airport location is well marked and you may waste some time finding the desk, pick up location in the parkade or the return place. The numerous cars have always been clean, well maintained and trouble free. On the last trip we had a small but fun to drive Lancia for 3 weeks in Italy and a Puegot 308 diesel, which was a great drive and very comfortable. for a week in the UK I would improve is that at check back (vehicle return) you do not get a receipt or anything. $3 tax in Rome is always a surprise, Fine print to small. "

The only comments that I would make would be. 1) That information given, re: how to get out of the airport and where to get the car filled up with gas would be more accurate. 2) It would be helpful if the rep. would tell you where to go if there is a problem with the car. For instance, I was told the was in good shape, but upon looking at it ,I found a few problems with the body, scratches, a small dent and some paint removal. " 1. Was not asked if I wanted the Fuel Purchase Option. It was put on my invoice anyway without my knowing or my permission and I signed for it. 121 Euros was charged to me on return of the vehicle. My fault for not double checking the invoice I suppose, but this should have been brought to my attention when getting the vehicle. 2. The windshield wiper blades performed very poorly. Had to drive three hours in pouring rain with limited visibility. 3. Very confusing signage to return the car to Hertz on the 4th floor of the parking structure. We had to drive through another companies car lot, exit that, and then cross over to the Hertz lot. I drove over a good part of Italy with a lot less problems than than I had in returning the car. "

" This is a comment on Hertz the company that i eneded up with at Termini. When i got to Termini train station to pick up the car i waited over an hour as it was a busy day for Hertz, the car i reserved was not available(diesel) and was not offered an upgrade. The car i ended up with was a 4 year old car that had been in an accident uncleaned and gas tank was empty. This car finally broke down and Hertz was unreachable, thks to great effort autoeurope i was able to exchange the car for another. Don't know what happened with Hertz but i would not rent from them in Europe for sure. Use them in North America without any issues maybe its just a Europe thing. Didn't even get offered compensation for all the troubles they caused on our holiday. "

" Very dissatisfied, the car that was delivered to me was a Ford Fiesta with over 54000 km, filthy, no antenna, air conditioning (ducts were completely blocked 95% confirmed by a mechanic. Tires 85 % to 90% wear (dangerous to drive on wet surface). Dents and scratches all over the vehicle. Hertz Rome told me after driving about 10minutes the air condition would work and the radio would receive well the stations(crap). I drove from Rome to Mammola located in the province of RC (08) hours drive with 35 to 40 Celsius. After a week I called Hertz and explained my dissatisfaction (using my cell phone with a cost.
