" We arrived at Dollar counter at 7:41 and got the car at 8:00 on Sept.10. then returned the car on Sept. 16 at 9:21. We were told to hurry and get on the shuttle. The attendant did not tell us of the additional charges just to hurry and get on the shuttle. When I got to the airport I reviewed the invoice and found that Dollar had charged us for 1 extra day for just over 1 hour. There should have been so leeway or only a charge for 1 hour extra. "

" Upon pick up the counter staff we were dealing with was extremely abrupt and rude. There was confusion over the 2000 deductible and instead of explaining how it worked, he on multiple occasions proceeded to talk over my wife and say repeatedly that our deductible waiver was through Auto Europe and not through Dollar. We did not understand this however but he would not listen. It wasn't until another counter staff overheard the confusion and came and clarified. If that first staff member had taken 10 seconds to explain what his co-worker did, we would never have had to leave feeling extremely frustrated. Customer service definitely needs to be worked on there, it was a bad experience from our point of view. "

I usually acquire my CDW coverage on my credit card but was told in the reviews and from Auto-Europe that car rental companies at Dublin airport make if very difficult to use your credit card insurance coverage. I wanted to get in and out of the rental agency as quickly as I could so I purchased the complete coverage package from Hertz at more expense than I wanted to. "

We exchanged it in Cork for another car, a Opel Astra. The staff at Cork were very friendly and helpful. We noticed that evening that the inside of the front windscreen was dirty. We cleaned it with some window cleaner. I suggest that Hertz clean the insides of all windscreens everytime cars are returned. "

" When we returned the vehicle there was a slight bulge on one tire, as we said we had hit a pothole on the highway so it must have happened then. Now they say we owe them over $200 for a new tire. What if the tire had a defect in the sidewall? It was unavoidable on the highway due to traffic, etc. We should not be responsible for that. "

I don't mind paying a penalty, but that amount for a quarter tank of fuel simply gouging. "

Canadians need to check with their Credit Card Company to make sure they are fully covered for a car rental in Ireland. Regular Car Insurance Companies DO NOT cover Outside of North America. Opt for the Wifi GPS for the car. So convenient and can be used for up to 8 cell phones. We also added a second driver for 10 dollars a day, ( had her proof of insurance as well) Great experience and staff very helpful. Definitely will deal with again, if another trip to Ireland is planned. "

There was no distinction in the lineup between the people who were making reservations and those who had already made them before coming to the branch. I had to wait for one hour to get service. I found that a little unsettling. I had made previous reservation, so there should be a lineup separate fast tracking these people out to their ready and waiting cars and away with them to enjoy their holiday. "

" We had read so many negative comments about car rentals in Ireland (on blogs and other sources) prior to our arrival that we were expecting a hard sell on extras, particularly insurance, etc. as we approached the desk at the Dublin airport. Our experience through Auto Europe and, in particular, with Hertz turned out to be the complete opposite and very positive - no surprises. It was no different than renting in North America and in our case, Canada. We would recommend Auto Europe to anyone. "

" my comments regarding SIXT are subject to how we conclude the final rental. Unfortunately we were hit from behind by another car travelling on N67 on Saturday June 11around 4:30pm. SIXT was called regarding the accident and there was no support staff to take the phone call. I called road side assistance and they were helpful. Fortunately their was no sustaining injuries or an ambulance required. The car trunk was damaged such that it did not close and a minor repair to get us on our way. We immediately returned the car to Dublin Airport Sunday a day earlier than our contract June 13. We are hopeful SIXT will reduce our cost for rental and GPS along with handling the hit and run insurance details without undue costs to us. gary "

" I expected to pick up the vehicle at the airport. When I got to the dollar counter I was advised that the vehicles were a short distance off site. We were shuttled to the deport and we waited for over an hour until the vehicle was ready. We also found that dollar automatically defaulted to prepaid fuel charge which was not something I had requested. "

" We phoned to confirm on day of pickup and after many rings, someone picked up then hung up. Called back and they couldn't find the booking. When we pushed, they eventually found it and the pickup/dropoff points were reversed in spite of our print copy of contract showing correct locations. After errors corrected, we left 2 hours late but the car rental was very satisfactory after that. "

" My only issue is that when i was booking, the website noted that renting a gps would be done at the counter in the rental office. When we got there to pick up our car and asked about renting a gps, they said that they had none left - that we should have booked it when we booked the rental. Auto Europe should let customers know this. "

" Booking was very easy, I had a few questions so contacted the number listed and the lady was very helpful. The car was exactly what I wanted, a small car as we were only 2 people. "

" When I went to pick up the car, the girl at the counter did a HARD sale to get me to bump up the size, sell her insurance, and she outright lied about the difference between a gas and diesel car usage to try to rent a diesel car. After I turned all that down, there was an admin charge for NOT taking the insurance of 30 EU and another 26.43 for a location charge-even though I booked and paid on line for THAT location! Left a sour taste as I drove away to start my holiday, I thought I had paid for all the car rental already! As far as the car goes, it was a great car, bright colour, easy to find in a lot. The return was easy but to avoid an extra 5 EU charge wanted to pay cash, had to go back to airport booth to do so! "

" I didn't like that I had to sign off on previous damage to the vehicle at the airport counter without seeing the vehicle. Also the previous damage was shown to me electronically on a tablet and I received no paper copy to check against when I did see the vehicle. They emailed a copy to me but that seems a bit late and left me worried about additional minor damage that didn't appear on the emailed report. On the positive side, I had no trouble using my credit card provided CDW although charging a processing/administration/documentation fee of 30 Euros for this privilege seems unfair since there was no processing , administration or documentation review involved. Seems more like a lost profit fee. "

" We were happy with the booking but we didn't take insurance because we were covered on the credit card. However we were given an older car with high mileage and had a lot of small dents on the exterior. This caused an issue whe we had to sign off when taking the car. Not all dents were recorded and we had to go over it in detail with an attendant. The car drove well and we were happy and had no problems. "

" An unauthorized charge of $189.25 Cdn. was charged to my credit card after I dropped the vehicle off. Avis Intl. has not been able to assist indicating that it most likely was due to the fuel not being at the full level however Avis Dublin/Airport gave the vehicle to me at the 1/4 mark which is how I returned it. They clearly indicated that I would not be compensated should there be more fuel in the tank then when I received this. My experience even at the time of pick up was absolutly disasterous, a $3,000.00 hold was placed on my credit card in addition to a $30.00 admin fee as I declined additional coverage, coverage I had through my credit card. My other car rental in Munich was without incident. "

" Bit inconvenient having to be bussed to the location but bus driver and staff very helpful. Staff need better information on VISA CDW coverage. My VISA does provide CDW in Ireland. your Hertz staff have been told that only MasterCard has the cover. This is not true and their training should be corrected. Check with me if you need further evidence of this. "
