" My booking was a BMW X1 automatic, but the AVIS staff gave me an Opel SUV and said they are similar but obviously they are not at the same level! However I have no choice as no other cars at same price was available. The built in GPS of the Opel was not working perfectly that caused lots of frustration on the road. "

" Overall, the car worked well, was small enough to navigate some of Spain & Portugal very narrow streets in the older parts. Previous experience in Europe had taught me, a small car was better, so I did not go for the upgrade, no matter how much the sales staff tried to up sell. Two matters: we had been led to believe from on line comments, that the rental office could help us with the toll transponder for Portugal, but no one could help. Secondly, we had a warning light come on, a "wrench" . Try as we might to get information by email & telephone, we were transferred to different departments, but no one could help us. We were very surprised with the lack of assistance, knowledge & lack of follow up. "

" Smooth and easy , just how booking a car should be. Definitely would use your services again. "

" Everything went smooth, until attending the rental car pickup area. It was in a parkade about 400 meters from the office outside, carrying a lot of luggage. It 3 floors down in an underground parkade, in a dimly lit area with no elevator working. When going over the vehicle for pre-existing damage we had to use the light on our phone, as did the rental agent to examine the vehicle. Unacceptable in this day and age. When returning the vehicle to the same location they park the vehicle in a much better lit area for examination. Seems to be done on purpose. "

In Barcelona, the person renting us the car noticed a suspicious person and grabbed our bags before he could do anything and they locked the doors for safety and had their staff on alert. Very caring. Barcelona is notorious for theft and travellers should be extremely cautious. "

" professional and courteous. Easy and simple. updates to my contract was done and sent. Staff was well informed and answered my questions. Would certainly use your service again if I need to rent a car in Europe again. Staff should however always inform clients that pick-up from airports/train station incur an extra pick-up fee without the client having to ask for it instead of them finding out when the car is picked-up at destination. "

" I have found that booking through AutoEurope is always my best option. I have been always satisfied with the service. "

" The service was good., although they tried ( and succeeded) in upselling a better model. I always could have said no, but I agreed to the upsell. The pick up and return were smooth and without incident. The car performed well and was in generally good condition. My worry was about the hold back on my credit card, but that was a small amount only due to the full coverage insurance I had purchased. There were some scratches on the car and I took photos of them with the date and the parking spot number on them. The person at Hertz said not too worry about it , as I had full insurance and that made me a bit uneasy. In general a good experience though. "

" We had rented a manual car with no special features and we were upgraded without any fee to an automatic hybrid Toyota that consumed much less gas than a ordinary car. The automatic transmission was appreciated in the very often narrow and hilly streets of Lisbon and Granada, for instance. "

" The check-in area at the airport, when dropping off the car, was cramped... not necessarily Hertz's fault, but the drop off centre is at the intersection of 3 internal routes in the parking garage. The check-out itself was efficient, but parking, while avoiding all other traffic, was a bit of a nuisance. "

" Our car was in good condition and performed well. Only issue was that while the car was delivered to us indicating "Full" fuel on gauge, it was in fact far from full, as we found out when we filled up not far after pick up. Maybe not a Hertz fault, as was probably due to previous user, but we felt slightly abused as a result. Would suggest filling up immediately after picking up car, to be able to complain to Hertz without any issues - harder if you are already some kms down the Autoroute. "

" I had a Peugeot 207 4 door with hatchback. Ample room for 2 passengers with luggage. Diesel engine, great fuel efficiency. Full tank gave me 1100 kms. Wonderful car to drive. No surprises at pick up or drop off points. After researching this was the best deal I found. "
