" I had initially rented a smaller car - I think a Peugeot 208 or such - but the Gentleman at the counter realized that I would be travelling a fair amount and suggested another more comfy, albeit more expensive vehicle but with the bonus of a Diesel engine which I had preferred in any case. Noting the difference in fuel prices I recognized some saving by having a Diesel and I accepted, and it was a joy to drive this vehicle. I did not go over the vehicle with eagle eyes as it was explained to me and verified on the contract that there were already some existing scratches so I just looked forward to my travels. Being used to take good care of all my possessions, I also or even more so practiced this with the rental car and when ever possible tried to park away from any potential hazards. Returning the car the lady confirmed what was already stated on the contract and I can only say that it was a happy experience as I usually go to Europe almost every year for a longer stay and always rent. " The experience was satisfactory. The Hertz desk, both at Orly (the pick-up location) and at Carcasonne (the drop-off location) were very busy. The agent at Orly indicated that there would be a significant amount of additional charges which were not in conformance with the Auto Europe contract. Due to language difficulties (good English but sufficiently accented as to be very hard to comprehend) and the crowd, I decided to try to deal with discrepancy at a later date. As it transpired these charges did not subsequently materialize, but it was a concern until the Visa bill arrived. The car was a Peugeot 208 automatic. Quite nice, but the automatic was really "clunky". "

" Good price, good service. Only issue was the cancellation of our reservation and the creation of a new one when all we wanted to do was change the pickup time. This caused some confusion at CDG Airport when the Europcar agent claimed our reservation was cancelled and he could do nothing for us. I called and explained the situation to a Auto Europe agent, and he wasn't sure what happened either, until I explained the time change request. He provided us with another booking reference, but the Europcar agent was unimpressed and asked that you never cancel reservations for such changes. "

However when we actually picked up the van I asked again and there was an 8 seater Mercedes available. Unfortunately the car had not been cleaned, had a lot of dents and had the rear window wiper missing. Apart from that it was a good solution for us as it could take all our luggage whereas a van (Espace) we had booked would have likely been too small. We had to pay Euro 100 extra for the larger van. Apart from that, all went well, the van performed excellent and we were happy with our experience. "

" Please note that your staff needs to be made aware of the fact that there is NO Hertz desk -or car pickup/drop-off service whatsoever- at Terminal 3 in Paris. Before leaving on my vacation, I was told I could go to any of Terminals 1, 2 or 3 to get my car. My plan was to spend several days in Paris without a car and then to get a car only for the non-Paris travel portion. My wife and I showed up at CDG Terminal 3, with all of our bags, only to be told that Hertz has NOT had a presence at Terminal 3 for several years. We then had to drag all of our belongings by shuttle to Terminal 1. Not nice. "
