What's Happening in Finland in 2010
Stromming Fair As the last catch of stromming is brought to port by herring fishermen, Helsinki's Market Square holds a large celebration to conclude the fishing season. This fair is among the oldest in Europe and features the delicious dish in a variety of ways.
Helsinki International Fashion Fair Though fashion shows are generally geared toward the industry itself, this show defies tradition and offers the public an opportunity to view the latest in fashion. The catwalk will play host to a variety of clothing, but this year, will also feature cosmetics, accessories, and other trends.
Seurasaari Christmas Path The island of Seurasaari becomes a Christmas wonderland each December. The open-air museum hosts a wealth of holiday activities, including singing, theater, and fairy tale readings. Enjoy a sleigh ride as you participate in some of Finland's oldest traditions. |
